We are using this Rohl faucet with metal handles.

I found this game table a year ago and thought it would be neat to use it in the powder room. It has been sitting in our living room with the sink on it for a few months now. I would like to have a piece of marble cut for the top. I'm not sure if we should try and refinish it or leave it as it is.

Wow- your Rohl wall faucet is Gorgeous! I so wanted to use a wall faucet (I had one in my first house) but didn't get to... lucky you!
The game table with the basin is a great look. If the finish is intact and fits in your room I say leave it as is. I think a honed marble piece cut to match the design on the piece would be gorgeous! Make sure it has a coved or ogee edge which will give it that old world look. You could also consider tea-staining the marble to give it some age.
love the new pics!

Considering this post is from March, I may be too late to give my 10 cents worth. I'm in agreement with FTLOAH above. If the finnish is in fairly decent shape, I'd leave it as is. A few nicks and scratches will just add to the character and keep you from stressing over any new bumps it may acquire.

This is an old "card table", as some antiquarians call it. If you put marble on the surface under the bowl, you might want to put in on the back as well.

I can't wait to see how this turns out. It will definitely be a conversation piece full of charm!
